Description

The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) is seeking a rugged, field-ready hyperspectral spectrometer capable of acquiring solar-induced chlorophyll fluorescence and measuring six or more targets. The product must be equivalent to the OCTO-FloX produced by JB Hyperspectral Devices GmbH. The system should have a spectral resolution fine enough to retrieve solar-induced chlorophyll fluorescence, a wavelength range of 500-900 nm, and be capable of rapid acquisition across multiple vegetative targets. The system should also be weatherproof, have integrated thermal regulation, and be capable of automatic optimization of integration time. • The system must have a spectral resolution of less than 1 nm FWHM. • The system must have a wavelength range of 500-900 nm. • The system must be capable of rapid acquisition across multiple vegetative targets. • The system must be weatherproof (IP67 rated) and have integrated thermal regulation. • The system must be capable of automatic optimization of integration time.

Budget estimate

$50,000 – $200,000

The budget for this opportunity is likely to be in the range of $50,000 to $200,000, considering the complexity and specificity of the hyperspectral spectrometer required. The factors that may influence the likely payment range include the cost of materials, labor, and research and development required to produce a system that meets the specified requirements. The USDA's budget for similar projects and the cost of similar hyperspectral spectrometers on the market may also be relevant factors.
