RE-BID DAWSON-WOOSTER-STREETSCAPE IMPROVEMENTS

The City of Wilmington is seeking a single‑prime contractor to perform a comprehensive streetscape renovation along Dawson and Wooster Streets (US 17/74/76) from 3rd St. to 17th St. This work includes full pavement milling and resurfacing, concrete curb and gutter replacement, ADA‑compliant sidewalks and curb ramps, drainage upgrades, traffic‑signal upgrades, utility coordination, erosion‑control, and landscaping. The contract is a lump‑sum with unit‑price items, must be completed within 365 calendar days, and includes a 14 % MBE/WBE subcontracting target. • Scope: milling & resurfacing, new concrete curbs/sidewalks, curb‑bump‑outs, drainage structures, signal upgrades, utility coordination, erosion control, landscaping, and related traffic‑control measures. • Key Requirements: valid NC Contractor’s License, 5 % bid bond, 100 % performance/pay bonds, $5 M minimum insurance, adherence to MUTCD and NCDOT specs, and submission of good‑faith MBE/WBE documentation. • Opportunities: multiple subcontracting categories (concrete, paving, traffic control, drainage, utilities, landscaping, erosion control, grading, signage, signals) allowing participation for specialty firms.
