The U.S. Embassy Windhoek announces an open competition for past participants of U.S. government-funded and U.S. government-sponsored exchange programs to submit applications to the 2026 Alumni Engagement Innovation Fund (AEIF 2026). This annual funding opportunity is designed to amplify the U.S. government’s return on investment in exchange programs, advance policy goals, and strengthen the U.S. government’s relationship with exchange alumni. All 2026 AEIF projects must celebrate and promote the 250th anniversary of American independence in coordination with the U.S. Embassy in Namibia’s Freedom 250 campaign. The project should support and promote Freedom 250, and address U.S. policy goals that align with administration objectives to make the U.S. safer, stronger, and more prosperous.
Key aspects of the project include:
* Convene alumni from different exchange programs to build or expand an alumni network
* Strengthen the relationship between alumni and the U.S. government
* Support alumni as they develop their leadership capacity and implement projects in their communities
* Celebrate and promote Freedom 250
* Address U.S. policy goals and administration objectives
* Ensure maximum sustainability or advancement of project goals after the end of project activity
