The Office of National Drug Control Policy (ONDCP) is seeking applications from non-profit organizations to deliver training and technical assistance on evidence-based addiction treatment to individuals with addiction, including when substance use disorder co-occurs with other mental health conditions. The purpose of this cooperative agreement is to educate, train, and produce materials to improve the implementation of evidence-based treatment, decrease criminal justice costs and recidivism rates, and improve access to evidence-based addiction treatment. The cooperative agreement recipient will provide in-person training, online training, and jurisdiction-specific technical assistance to a wide range of geographically distributed areas. Key objectives include:
• Developing and providing no-cost, on-request curricula and training to educate and train drug court practitioners and treatment providers
• Designating and funding a research or academic organization to conduct an independent assessment of the effectiveness and impact of training and technical assistance
• Ensuring close alignment of all TTA materials with the Trump Administration’s policy priorities
The program’s goals are to equip criminal justice practitioners with the skills and information needed for implementation of evidence-based treatment, expand the meaningful use of medication for the treatment of substance use disorders, and ensure access to evidence-based addiction treatment and overdose reversal medications.
