Description

The Drug-Free Communities (DFC) Support Program is a grant opportunity that aims to establish and strengthen collaborations to support the efforts of community coalitions working to prevent and reduce substance use among youth. The program has two main goals: to establish and strengthen collaborations among communities, public and private non-profit agencies, and federal, state, local, and tribal governments, and to reduce substance use among youth by addressing the factors in a community that increase the risk of substance use and promoting the factors that minimize the risk of substance use. Key aspects of this opportunity include: • Eligible applicants are community-based coalitions addressing youth substance use that have previously received a DFC grant or have experienced a lapse in funding. • Applicants must be a nonprofit organization or an entity that the Administrator determines to be appropriate. • The program will fund applicants who have concluded the first funding cycle or have experienced a lapse in funding. • The estimated funding for this opportunity is $31,250,000, with an award ceiling of $125,000. • The project duration is expected to be 5 years.
