Description

The Drug-Free Communities (DFC) Support Program is a grant opportunity created by the Drug-Free Communities Act of 1997. The purpose of the DFC Support Program is to establish and strengthen collaboration to support the efforts of community coalitions working to prevent youth substance use. The program has two main goals: to establish and strengthen collaboration among communities, public and private non-profit agencies, as well as federal, state, local, and tribal governments to support community coalitions, and to reduce substance abuse among youth and, over time, reduce substance abuse among adults. Key aspects of this opportunity include: • The program is accepting applications for Fiscal Year 2027 grants. • Eligible applicants are community-based coalitions addressing youth substance use that have not yet previously received a DFC grant. • Applicants must be a nonprofit organization, or an entity that the Administrator determines to be appropriate, or part of, or associated with an established legally recognized domestic, public or private nonprofit organization. • The estimated funding for this opportunity is $31,250,000, with an award ceiling of $125,000. • The project duration is expected to be 12 months, starting on September 30, 2027.

Budget estimate

$50,000 – $125,000

The estimated budget for this opportunity can be estimated based on the award ceiling, which is $125,000. However, the actual budget may vary depending on the specific proposal and the needs of the community coalition. Considering the program's goals and the estimated funding, it is likely that the budget will be in the range of $50,000 to $125,000. The factors that may influence the likely payment range include the size and scope of the community coalition, the level of collaboration among communities and organizations, and the effectiveness of the proposed strategies for preventing youth substance use.
