PURCHASE OF AGGREGATES, ASPHALT CONCRETE (HOT MIX ASPHALT), AND RELATED MATERIALS

The City of Sacramento is soliciting bids for the purchase of aggregates, hot mix asphalt (asphalt concrete), cut-back mix, and related materials. The City intends to award multiple contracts from this Invitation for Bid, with contracts issued on the basis of best material prices. The decision as to which contracts to order from will depend on the availability and quality of materials, price, location of jobs, time restraints, etc. from the City customers' standpoint. Key responsibilities of the contractor will include providing materials in accordance with the Section 39 of the State of California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) Standard Specifications, and ensuring that all materials are subject to inspection and approval by the City. The contractor will also be required to immediately remove any rejected or condemned material brought to the work site or incorporated in the work, at their own expense. • The contract will be for a period of one year from the date of award, with the option of up to four additional one-year extensions, not to exceed five years, at the sole discretion of the City. • The City reserves the right to modify the dates and other criteria listed at its sole discretion. • The contractor will be required to comply with all applicable laws, regulations, and ordinances, including the California Occupational Safety and Health Act and all applicable safety orders issued by the Division of Occupational Safety and Health. • The contractor will be required to provide proof of insurance and to indemnify the City against any claims or liabilities arising out of the performance of the contract.
