Design Services - STEAM Children's Center at Lewis Library

The City of Fontana is seeking a qualified consultant to provide full‑service design and construction‑support for a new STEAM Children’s Center to be housed within the existing Lewis Library building. The consultant will develop schematic plans, detailed construction documents, bid specifications, cost estimates, and provide ongoing construction‑phase support, including submittal reviews, RFI responses, and record‑drawing production. The scope also requires coordination of architectural, structural, mechanical, electrical, and civil disciplines, adherence to ADA and sound‑isolation requirements, and delivery of up to four rounds of City review for both design and conceptual renderings. • Prepare schematic, design‑development and construction‑document sets for a ~4,800 sf children’s STEAM exhibit space, including MEP, interior finishes, and sound‑proofing. • Develop bid packages, cost estimates, and provide construction‑phase support (submittal reviews, site meetings, RFIs, punch‑list coordination). • Deliver conceptual renderings with at least one revision, manage project schedule, and produce as‑built/record drawings after construction. • Ensure compliance with ADA, prevailing‑wage rules, and all applicable local, state, and federal regulations. • Provide up to four rounds of City review/revision for both design documents and conceptual renderings.
