Description

The National Cancer Institute (NCI) invites small business concerns to submit research proposals under this Phase I Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) contract solicitation. The topic areas being sought under this solicitation include the development of therapeutic or preventative technologies for treatment or prevention of Pediatric Cancers and/or Rare Cancers, and the development of devices, diagnostic technologies, or digital health tools for treatment, detection, and diagnosis of Pediatric Cancers and/or Rare Cancers. • The NCI is looking for innovative and transformative solutions focused on prevention, diagnosis, detection, and treatment in both pediatric cancers and rare cancers. • Proposals are encouraged for the development of innovative approaches focused on detection, prevention, and treatment of pediatric or rare cancers. • The solicitation is agnostic to the type of technologies and modalities as long as they are highly innovative and reflect ideas substantially improved from the current state of the art. • Projects supported by this program should not be low risk or incremental improvements to established technologies. • The awards will support initial exploration of untested but potentially transformative ideas that may radically change the way we understand, prevent, diagnose, treat, and manage rare or pediatric cancers.

This amount is intended to allow small businesses to perform key de-risking research activities and generate proof-of-concept and feasibility data. The actual budget may vary depending on the specific proposal and the needs of the project. Factors that may influence the likely payment range include the scope of the project, the number of proposals received, and the availability of funds.
