Description
The Indian Health Service is seeking an Information Technology (IT) Specialist to provide non-personal services for the Mescalero Service Unit located in Mescalero, NM. The IT Specialist will be responsible for effective installation, configuration, operation, and maintenance of systems hardware and software and related infrastructure. The contract is for a base year with options to extend. Key responsibilities include:
• Mapping related solutions for various projects and operational needs
• Installing new/rebuilding existing servers and configuring hardware, peripherals, services, settings, directories, storage
• Maintaining installation and configuration procedures
• Contributing to and maintaining IHS system standards
• Recommending innovations to automate system administration tasks
• Performing monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all hardware, server resources, systems, and key processes
• Performing security monitoring and backup operations
• Creating, changing, and deleting user accounts as needed
• Investigating and troubleshooting issues
• Repairing and recovering from hardware or software failures
The ideal candidate will have experience with the Indian Health Service's Electronic Health Record/Resource and Patient Management System (EHR/RPMS) or equivalent healthcare IT systems, a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or equivalent field, and the ability to meet the requirements of the Statement of Work.
