East Pump Station (WPC-F)

The City of Flint is seeking a contractor to replace water pumps at the East Pump Station of its Water Pollution Control Facility, including associated electrical conduit work, valve and pipe‑support replacement, interior painting of spool pieces, and removal of asbestos‑containing black coatings. The scope also covers demolition of existing line shafts, installation of metal plates for conduit support, and removal of pressure switches. This project requires expertise in mechanical pump installation, electrical conduit routing, hazardous‑material abatement, and industrial painting. • Replace existing water pumps with new units and install associated valves (smaller size, requiring spool pieces). • Perform conduit installation (two 2½‑in. power conduits and one 1‑in. monitoring conduit) and support them with metal plates on each floor. • Remove asbestos‑containing black coatings from pipes, valves, pumps, and support rods; include any additional testing costs in the bid. • Paint interior of all spool pieces per specification Section 09900 and replace 32 pipe‑support rods.
