The United States Coast Guard (USCG) is hosting an Industry Day event to engage with industry about the USCG’s needs relating to a potential upcoming requirement for the construction or fabrication of semi-permanent working platforms at Coast Guard Yard in Baltimore, MD. The work platforms will be used to facilitate exterior hull preservation on the 154’ WPC Fast Response Cutter. The USCG is seeking a system of work platforms that can be moved by industrial equipment and can facilitate blasting, painting, and welding operations on the hull of sea-going vessels.
• The work platforms must be semi-permanent and set on an existing concrete base.
• The work platforms must be able to be connected to form a continuous working platform system.
• The work platforms must conform to OSHA regulations.
• The work platforms will require perforated or slated openings to allow grit blast and sand to fall through.
• The work platforms must have a minimum of two egress points.
The USCG is seeking information from industry on the design, construction, and delivery of the work platforms, as well as the company's experience with similar projects.
