The Town of Brookline is seeking a consultant team to assist with Phase 1 of the creation of a Town Archive for the municipality's historic records. The project consists of two main tasks: a Pilot Project and the creation of an Action Plan. The chosen team will use the historic records of the Department of Planning and Community Development to craft an item-level archival system of survey documentation and arrangement of Town records of historic value. The results of the Pilot Project, as well as a reconnaissance survey of the historic records of the Town's Finance and Health Departments, will be the basis for the Action Plan report. The Action Plan will provide an archival needs assessment to assist in the evaluation and planning for a Town-wide archival program.
• The project aims to create a Town Archive that will broaden the collections scope to include all of the historic records of the Town of Brookline.
• The consultant team will work with the Town of Brookline departments and the Brookline Preservation Commission.
• The project requires the creation of an item-level archival system and an Action Plan report.
• The consultant team will need to have experience in archival management and project management.
