Qiagen Wastewater Surveillance Testing Reagents and Service

The Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment (CDPHE) is seeking to procure Qiagen wastewater surveillance testing reagents and services. The project involves the purchase of two QIAGEN QIAcuity digital polymerase chain reaction (dPCR) instruments, as well as the associated reagents and consumables. The sole source justification is based on the fact that Qiagen is the only vendor that can provide the required equipment and services that meet the existing protocols and partnerships of the wastewater surveillance unit. The project duration is 5 years, with an estimated dollar amount of $1.64M. Key aspects of the project include: • Procurement of two QIAGEN QIAcuity dPCR instruments • Associated reagents and consumables • 5-year service agreement renewal for the original QIAcuity instrument • Maintenance of existing agreements with Qiagen • Compatibility with existing equipment and software • Specialized trainings and competencies of lab staff • Academic, federal, and local public health partnerships requiring the use of Qiagen equipment and services
