Description

The National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) Science Mission Directorate (SMD) has released its annual omnibus Research Announcement (NRA), Research Opportunities in Space and Earth Sciences (ROSES) – 2022. This opportunity is for the Astrophysics Data Analysis program, which aims to support research in astrophysics data analysis. The typical period of performance for an award is three years, but some programs may allow up to five years. Proposers must be affiliated with an institution at nspires.nasaprs.com/ and, in general, NASA provides funding only to US institutions. Some key points to consider: • Proposers must retrieve the instructions document (zip file) associated with the application package for this opportunity. • Awards will be made as grants, cooperative agreements, contracts, and inter- or intra-agency transfers, depending on the nature of the work proposed. • The full text of the ROSES-2022 solicitation and the "Summary of Solicitation" as a stand-alone document can be found on NSPIRES. • Frequently asked questions for ROSES are posted at http://science.nasa.gov/researchers/sara/faqs/.

Budget estimate

$500,000 – $2,000,000

The budget amount for this opportunity is not explicitly stated. However, considering the nature of the project and the typical funding amounts for research grants, a rough estimate could be between $500,000 and $2,000,000. This estimate is based on the fact that the project duration is typically three years, and the funding amount is likely to be in the range of $150,000 to $600,000 per year. The actual budget amount may vary depending on the specific proposal, the qualifications of the proposer, and the availability of funds.
