Ultrapure Water System

The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) is seeking a contractor to provide an ultrapure water (UPW) system capable of producing Type 1 UPW from domestic tap water. The system will be used in a laboratory setting to deliver UPW to various instruments, including nanoparticle nebulizers and a scanning threshold particle counter. The contractor shall deliver a UPW system and a pretreatment system, including a 1-year service agreement. The system must meet specific technical specifications, including the ability to produce UPW with an effluent resistance of ≥ 18.2 MΩ cm and a sustained dispense rate of > 1.5 L min-1 at 30 psi to 70 psi. Key features of the required system include: • Laboratory-scale UPW system • Capable of producing Type 1 UPW from conditioned domestic tap water • Effluent resistance ≥ 18.2 MΩ cm, < 3 ppb Total Organic Carbon (TOC) • Sustained dispense rate of > 1.5 L min-1 at 30 psi to 70 psi for up to 8 h • Ultrafilter, UV/TOC lamp, and TOC monitor • 120 VAC power supply
