Hammerhead Program

The Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) intends to award a contract modification to increase the number of Hammerhead production units available under Contract No. N00024-21-C-6425. The Hammerhead is a moored-torpedo variant mine system that has the capability to detect, classify, and defeat Anti-Submarine Warfare (ASW) targets. The contract modification will be issued using other than full and open competition. Interested parties may express their interest and capability in response to this notice. • The Hammerhead system has the capability to detect, classify, and defeat Anti-Submarine Warfare (ASW) targets. • The Government is in the process of obtaining a complete Technical Data Package for the Hammerhead system. • The Government has a need for additional Hammerhead units to meet the Fleet's operational requirements in FY27. • General Dynamics Missions Systems, Inc. (GDMS) is determined to be the only available source capable of fulfilling these requirements within the time required without undue delay.
