Description
The U.S. Air Force (USAF) is seeking a contractor to design, construct, and deliver a functional inert storage pad with a canopy at Campia Turzii Air Base, Romania. The project includes site preparation, compaction, earth fill and gravel placement, vehicle accessibility, canopy installation, and coordination with host nation authorities. The contractor shall provide all necessary equipment, materials, labor, and information to complete the project. The project must be completed within 90 calendar days from the issuance of the Notice to Proceed.
Key aspects of the project include:
• Constructing a pad using compacted earth fill and gravel base with approximate dimensions of 13m x 13m x 21m
• Installing a canopy structure measuring 12m x 12m x 20m, featuring a triangular design supported by three vertical metal posts
• Ensuring the overall design resembles a utilitarian, open-sided shelter that provides shade and visual concealment from aerial and perimeter views
• Implementing erosion control measures to prevent displacement of gravel and maintain pad integrity
• Providing as-built drawings and construction completion report
