J--NOTICE OF INTENT TO SOLE SOURCE

The Department of the Interior, Interior Business Center, Acquisition Services Directorate, intends to award a sole source contract for the procurement of a three-platform Rice Lake SURVIVOR OTR Concrete Deck Truck Scale. The scale system must be compatible with existing equipment and allow for the execution of TOP 2-2-801 procedures with more efficiency, reliability, and accuracy. The system consists of three individual scales, including one 28-foot long x 15-foot wide heavy-capacity truck scale and two 2-foot long x 7.5-foot wide heavy-capacity scales. The contractor must provide all required certified factory-trained labor, documentation, schematics, integration supplies, tools, test equipment, transportation, and integrate the control system. The system must integrate seamlessly with current equipment to avoid additional retrofit costs, performance issues, warranty complications, or additional personnel training. • The platform scale system must be installed to replace the current single platform scale of the Automotive Instrumentation Division of Aberdeen Test Center (ATC) with a three-scale system. • The contractor must perform all required concrete work for the platform decks and supporting piers within the pit to ensure a customizable scale fits with current equipment. • The system must meet specific technical requirements, including weight measurement accuracy and display increments.
