The Florida Department of Corrections (FDC) is seeking information from vendors on innovative security solutions to enhance safety and security within correctional institutions. The primary objective of this RFI is to explore advanced security solutions that can effectively prevent and respond to security breaches and threats to safety. The FDC is interested in various innovative solution categories, including biometrics identification and verification, video analytics and surveillance, contraband detection and technologies, mobile device detection and management, secure communications platforms, behavioral analytics and predictive intelligence, and robotic technology.
• The RFI will not result in a procurement decision related to any commodities or services.
• Vendors are required to provide an overview of their security solutions tailored for correctional institutions and define the innovative solution category under which their company falls.
• The FDC will review all information and options related to the services and available options.
• The Department may use non-confidential/non-trade secret information learned from vendor responses to determine the appropriate procurement method and prepare general, technical, and special specifications.
