Description

The Mayor’s Office to End Domestic and Gender-Based Violence (ENDGBV) is seeking proposals for the Crime Victim Assistance Program (CVAP), which aims to provide support services to survivors of domestic and gender-based violence and other crimes in New York City. The program will have two components: a law enforcement portion and a community-based portion. The law enforcement vendor will work with the NYPD to provide advocates and support services to survivors, while the community-based vendors will provide information, referral, and accompaniment services to victims. The program goals include increasing access to community-based services, reducing duplication of services, and enhancing law enforcement response to victims. Proposers must have at least five years of experience providing similar services and demonstrate organizational capacity, a proposed approach to the program model, and a detailed budget. Key aspects of the program include: • Providing support services to survivors of domestic and gender-based violence and other crimes • Increasing access to community-based services outside of NYPD and other systems • Reducing duplication of services to survivors • Enhancing law enforcement response to victims through coordination and collaboration with victim-serving organizations • Providing critical services such as continued safety planning, crisis counseling, individual advocacy, and ongoing case management to victims and survivors • Engaging and supporting hyper-local community-based partners to meet specific needs of diverse communities
