Description
The Department of Design and Construction (DDC) seeks a qualified Special Inspector to provide special inspection services for the Queens Civil Courthouse Plaza Reconstruction Project (CO299EXT2). The contractor will perform concrete sampling and testing (TR2) and other required special inspections to verify compliance with NYC Building Code provisions, approved construction documents, and industry standards. The scope includes demolition, drainage, waterproofing, structural repairs, and plaza reconstruction, with the need to maintain courthouse access throughout construction.
• Perform concrete sampling, testing, and verification of compressive strength for cast‑in‑place concrete on the new topping slab.
• Conduct all required special inspections (structural, fire‑protection, mechanical, electrical, etc.) per NYC DOB Chapter 17.
• Provide daily inspection reports, technical reports, and final inspection certifications; coordinate with DDC Resident Engineer and adhere to PLA requirements.
• Must meet M/WBE participation goals (if applicable) and comply with city labor, safety, and reporting standards.
