The Bureau of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs of the U.S. Department of State is seeking applications to carry out a project to improve academic forensic accounting capabilities in Bosnia and Herzegovina. The project aims to deliver practice-oriented training to prosecutors and law enforcement investigators, enabling them to trace criminal money flows, build stronger cases, and disrupt financial networks linked to international drug cartels. The selected implementer will transform an academic institution in Bosnia and Herzegovina into a permanent training center for prosecutors and law enforcement professionals. Key activities include:
• Developing targeted, practice-oriented course curricula specifically designed for prosecutors and investigators
• Delivering hands-on training on practical skills like tracing criminal money, analyzing complex financial records, and handling digital evidence for court cases
• Providing continuing education to keep investigators current as criminals develop new money-laundering techniques
• Building a self-sustaining program that can continue training law enforcement and justice sector contacts without ongoing U.S. funding.
The project will provide sustainable tools for Bosnia and Herzegovina's law enforcement and prosecutorial institutions to maintain forensic accounting skills and support authorities in tracing, seizing, and managing criminal assets.
