Description
The district is seeking a qualified general contractor to modernize classrooms at three schools—Valley Alternative High School, Orange Grove Middle School, and Bixby Elementary—under the Measure BB Bond. Work includes interior painting, removal of existing finishes, installation of new luxury‑vinyl‑tile flooring, limited demolition, protection and testing of fire‑alarm, security, low‑voltage, and HVAC systems, and final cleaning and commissioning. The project is subject to prevailing‑wage rules and requires compliance with asbestos/lead survey findings for the Bixby site.
• Interior painting of walls, trim, doors, ceilings, and light‑fixture housings.
• Removal of carpet, tiles, and base‑cabinet debris; installation of LVT flooring with transition strips.
• Protection, testing, and restoration of fire‑alarm, security, low‑voltage, and HVAC equipment; abatement of any asbestos encountered (>100 sf) per OSHA/Cal‑OSHA standards.
• Phased execution: Valley Alternative HS (Phase A & B), Orange Grove MS (three phases), and Bixby Elementary (single phase).
• Required 10 % bid bond; awarded contractor must provide 100 % performance/payment bond; all bidders must hold an active B California contractor license and be pre‑qualified on the district’s Measure BB list.
