Description
The City of Alexandria is seeking a qualified contractor to provide comprehensive janitorial services for the Alexandria Zoological Park, covering daily, weekly, and periodic cleaning of seven buildings (approx. 3,750 sq ft) and outdoor areas. The contractor must supply all labor, equipment, supplies, and supervision, adhere to veterinarian‑approved chemicals, and follow strict utility‑conservation and security protocols. The contract includes a base year with two optional renewal years, and the award may be based on best overall value.
• Perform daily restroom cleaning, weekly cleaning of admin, education, keeper breakrooms, and weekly/monthly deep‑cleaning of interior spaces.
• Use specified cleaning chemicals (RESCUE Concentrate, Dawn Degreaser, etc.) and follow color‑coded microfiber cloth procedures.
• Provide insurance (general liability $1 M, auto $2 M, workers’ comp) and potentially a $5,000 janitorial bond; comply with AFEAT diversity goals.
