Description
The State of Iowa seeks qualified firms to provide professional design services for two separate building envelope projects at the Woodward Resource Center: (1) replacement of the flat roof on the Dispatch Garage building and (2) tuckpointing (masonry repointing) of the Birches building. The scope includes site assessments, design development, preparation of construction documents, coordination with the construction team, and compliance with state building codes and sustainability guidelines. A pre‑proposal conference will be held on 10/22/2026 (in‑person and virtual) to answer questions and clarify requirements. Submissions are due by 11/10/2026.
• Design of a new flat roof system (material selection, drainage, structural considerations).
• Tuckpointing design for historic masonry, including mortar mix specifications and repair methodology.
• Production of detailed construction drawings, specifications, and cost estimates.
• Coordination with the Woodward Resource Center facilities staff and any required permitting agencies.
• Delivery of final design package ready for construction bidding.
