Pump Station No. 65 Rehabilitation Design

The City of Norfolk Department of Utilities is seeking bids for the rehabilitation of Pump Station No. 65. The project includes the demolition of the existing pump building, pumping equipment, electrical equipment, and instrumentation, as well as the rehabilitation of the wet well and installation of new pumping equipment, piping, electrical equipment, and instrumentation. The contractor will be responsible for coordinating with the City and other contractors to prevent delays and ensure uninterrupted service to customers. • The project requires the contractor to comply with the Virginia Underground Utility Damage Prevention Act and the Overhead High Voltage Act. • The contractor must also comply with the City of Norfolk's Right of Way Excavation and Restoration Manual. • The project involves the installation of new water and sewer connections, which must be coordinated with the City. • The contractor must verify the type of material, outside diameter, and location of all pipes being connected to ensure proper fittings are available. • The contractor is responsible for locating all existing sewer lateral and water service connections prior to completing any rehab or replacement work.
