Description

The City of Hollywood, FL is soliciting bids for the complete rehabilitation of Stormwater Pump Station No. 2 (SW‑2). The work is divided into three phases: (1) installation of a temporary 20,000 GPM bypass pumping system to maintain uninterrupted stormwater service; (2) structural demolition, concrete repair, CMU wall restoration, and installation of new pump equipment and control drives; and (3) full site restoration, including removal of temporary equipment, pavement and sidewalk repair, and landscaping. The contractor must demonstrate experience with municipal utility infrastructure, temporary flow‑bypass operations, and heavy concrete construction. Bids are due November 25, 2026 via the City’s OpenGov portal. • Phase 1: Design, supply, install, and commission a fully automated bypass pump system (20 k GPM) with hydraulic pumps, temporary discharge piping, equipment pads, and security fencing. • Phase 2: Demolish existing pump‑well top slabs, pour reinforced concrete slab, repair CMU walls and concrete spalls/cracks, install new pumps and drive units. • Phase 3: Remove all temporary structures, restore asphalt, sidewalks, and sodded areas, and ensure drainage outfalls meet municipal standards. • Mandatory qualifications: proven civil/structural utility experience, appropriate licensing, and ability to provide performance and payment bonds (5 % of bid). • Pre‑bid conference (non‑mandatory) on November 3, 2026; questions due November 5, 2026.

Budget estimate

$2,000,000 – $5,000,000

The solicitation does not disclose an estimated contract value. Based on typical costs for storm‑water pump‑station rehabilitation—including design, a 20,000 GPM bypass system, concrete demolition and replacement, new pump equipment, and full site restoration—a mid‑size municipal utility project of this scope generally falls in the $2 million‑$5 million range. Factors influencing the final amount include the cost of hydraulic pumps, concrete work, site‑access constraints near a seawall, and any unforeseen subsurface conditions.
