Description
The City of Salina is seeking a qualified contractor to demolish the existing landfill scale house and associated structures, perform extensive earthwork, and construct a new, fully‑equipped scale‑house building with two truck scales, utility connections, and comprehensive site improvements. The scope includes demolition, grading, sub‑grade preparation, structural fill, rip‑rap, erosion control, new concrete and asphalt pavement, curbs, sidewalks, parking, lighting, gate systems, fencing, landscaping, and installation of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection systems. The contract will be awarded on a firm‑unit‑price basis and requires a 5 % bid security, performance and payment bonds, and liability insurance.
• Demolition of existing scale house, truck scale, pavement, fences, and related structures.
• Earthwork, sub‑grade prep, structural fill, rip‑rap, storm‑water controls, and site grading.
• Construction of a new building with full MEP systems, two truck‑scale foundations, and a 75 kVA propane generator.
• Installation of new concrete/asphalt pavement, curbs, sidewalks, lighting, queue lights, wheel stops, signage, bollards, remote‑operated/manual gates, and a new perimeter fence with landscaping.
• Required bonding, insurance, and compliance with City of Salina’s standard contract conditions.
