Construction of New Sidewalk with Pedestrian Facilities on Poindexter Street I-464 Overpass

The City of Chesapeake is soliciting bids for the design‑build construction of a new 5‑ft‑wide sidewalk with associated pedestrian amenities along the south side of Poindexter Street at the I‑464 overpass. The work includes: • Installation of the sidewalk from the South Norfolk Jordan Bridge signal to the intersection of Poindexter Street and Bainbridge Boulevard. • New pedestrian railing on the bridge structure. • New street‑lighting fixtures along the project limits. • Required demolition, grading, utility relocation, concrete work, asphalt concrete, curb and gutter, and traffic‑control measures. • Compliance with Virginia DOT (VDOT) Road and Bridge Specifications, FHWA requirements, and local DBE policies. • All bids must be submitted electronically via the City’s OpenGov procurement portal, with a 5 % bid security and required performance/payment bonds.
