Description
The New York City Department of Design and Construction is issuing a Competitive Sealed Bid (CSB) for the reconstruction of existing sanitary sewer lines in North Brooklyn (Project EC‑SEKN26, REBID 1). The contract covers emergency‑repair sewer replacement, including installation of Enclosed Sewer/Vent Pipe (ESVP) on concrete cradles of various diameters, associated manhole work, road and sidewalk restoration, tree removal/planting, and required utility coordination. Bidders must submit a bid security, comply with special experience requirements, and meet performance and payment bond obligations. The anticipated contract period is one year, beginning September 10 2026 and ending September 10 2027, with a total estimated procurement value of roughly $10.5 million.
• Full underground sewer reconstruction across multiple sites in North Brooklyn, using ESVP pipe ranging from 8" to 60".
• Includes ancillary work: manhole replacement, road/sidewalk concrete, tree removal and re‑planting, excavation, backfill, and utility coordination (Consolidated Edison, Verizon, National Grid, Altice, Charter).
• Mandatory bid security (2 % certified check or 10 % bid bond for bids ≥ $1 M) and 100 % performance/payment bonds; retainage up to 35 %; liquidated damages of $1,300 per day for schedule breaches.
• Bids due 4/27/2026 (virtual bid opening on YouTube); questions due 4/20/2026; contract start 9/10/2026, duration 12 months.
