Great Pond Lagoon Restoration Project for the Dept. of Planning and Natural Resources

The U.S. Virgin Islands Department of Planning and Natural Resources (DPNR) is seeking a qualified firm to provide professional design and permitting services for the restoration of the Great Pond Lagoon located in St. Croix, U.S. Virgin Islands. The project involves the restoration of tidal flushing, including dredging, vegetation management, and infrastructure stabilization. The selected firm will be responsible for providing a complete design package, including construction specifications, calculations, and drawings, as well as obtaining all necessary permits. The firm will also be required to conduct stakeholder engagement sessions and provide technical support to DPNR staff. Key aspects of the project include: • Conducting topographic and boundary surveys • Performing geotechnical investigations • Conducting Hydrologic and Hydraulic (H&H) modeling • Selecting dredging methods and equipment • Designing structural stabilization measures • Integrating ecological restoration measures • Phasing construction to minimize environmental impacts • Addressing site access constraints The project has a period of performance of 180 days, with a renewal option for an additional 180 days.
