The Virginia Tech “Improving Campus Accessibility” (ICA) project seeks a qualified construction firm to install the southeast quadrant of the university’s “Infinite Loop” pedestrian/vehicle pathway through the densest residential area of campus. The work includes extensive earthwork, grading, storm‑water management, utility relocations, concrete and unit‑paving installation (including an accent ribbon), site furnishings, lighting, signage, and preservation/enhancement of existing mature trees and landscape features. The contract will be awarded on a lump‑sum, sealed‑bid basis and will span roughly 18 months (547 calendar days) from award to substantial completion.
• Construct ~2,100 ft of 16‑ft‑wide accessible loop with concrete and unit‑paving, including decorative ribbon and expansion joints.
• Perform grading, sub‑drainage, storm‑water conveyance, and utility relocation (electrical, lighting, underground services).
• Provide site furnishings (benches, bike racks, trash/recycling units, sports equipment, lighting, signage) and landscape preservation/enhancement per detailed specifications.
• Follow detailed Construction Logistics Plans that segment the work into three phases (Months 1‑4, 5‑8, 9‑18) and comply with ADA, Virginia building codes, and university sustainability standards.
