Sunbeam Dam Stairs

The project involves removing and replacing a large set of timber stairs at the Sunbeam Dam Interpretive Site in the Sawtooth National Recreation Area. The project location is in Custer County, Idaho, and the site is accessed from State Highway 75. The project duration is from July 6th, 2026, to October 16th, 2026. The quotation should include a signed SF-18/SF-1449, a fully completed Schedule of Items with pricing for all items, and a completed Experience Questionnaire. The Forest Service will accept any lumber species and treatment option provided that the final product complies with the AWPA Standard U1 for UC4B (heavy-duty ground contact). Some key points to consider are: • The total length for the railings is approximately 70 feet long, and each of the vertical posts is approximately 3.75 feet long. • The Forest Service wants a Full Sawn Rough 8”x8” for the stair timbers. • The front of the tread will have 7 inches exposed. • The Forest Service will accept any lumber species and treatment option provided that the final product complies with the AWPA Standard U1 for UC4B (heavy-duty ground contact).
