Federated Search

The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) is conducting market research to identify qualified small business concerns capable of providing comprehensive design, development, and implementation of a scalable Federated Search solution. The solution should enable seamless, real-time information retrieval across the agency's disparate digital platforms. The key requirements include internal connectivity, external connectivity, data segregation, selective query logic, and environment scalability. The contractor should also provide training and knowledge transfer, and ensure NIST compliance, identity management, and Section 508 compliance. • Internal connectivity: The contractor shall develop and configure secure connectors for internal agency repositories. • External connectivity: The contractor shall develop connectors for authorized external/third-party data sources. • Data segregation: The contractor shall implement a "Search-Time:" aggregation architecture to prevent cross-contamination of sensitive data. • Selective query logic: The user interface (UI) shall provide functional "toggle" or "filter" capabilities allowing users to explicitly select internal, external, or hybrid search modes prior to query execution. • Environment scalability: The solution should be scalable on all environments/platforms for future needs.
