High Pressure Air Compressor, 18,000 hour overhaul

The opportunity is for the overhaul of two high pressure air compressors (HPACs) for the Military Sealift Command. The work includes the 18,000 hour maintenance on the HPACs, as well as electrical and condensate drain upgrades. The compressors are currently located in Alabama Shipyard and will be delivered to the OEM approved facility for shop overhaul. The contractor will be responsible for performing various tasks, including disassembling and inspecting the compressors, replacing worn-out parts, and testing the equipment. The contract also requires the contractor to provide an OEM authorized field service representative to ensure compliance with the manufacturer's standards and performance specifications. Some key tasks include: • Disassembling and inspecting the oil pump and replacing the crankshaft oil seal • Cleaning and inspecting the piston rod oil wiper assemblies • Overhauling the freshwater pump • Cleaning the cooling water system • Hydrostatically testing the cooling water system • Refurbishing the manual condensate drain manifold and drain line check valves • Performing system upgrades to the electrical and condensate drain systems • Preparing equipment for testing and accomplishing operational tests • Coordinating transportation of the overhauled compressors back to the Norfolk Warehouse
