City of Lenoir ARC Flash Study

The City of Lenoir is requesting Statements of Qualifications from professional engineering firms to conduct an arc flash assessment at public utilities facilities. The selected firm will be responsible for providing services that meet the requirements of the current standards in accordance with 29CFR1910.132.(d)(1), NFPA 70E. The scope of work includes collecting field data, creating a one-line model, performing a preliminary short circuit and equipment verification study, calculating impedances, determining system operating modes and conditions, performing an arc flash analysis, reviewing protective device coordination, and preparing a detailed report on findings. The firm must have relevant experience in arc flash assessment and working knowledge of municipal water and wastewater infrastructure. • The project includes multiple facilities, including wastewater treatment plants and water distribution facilities. • The firm must have a professional engineer registered in the State of North Carolina with at least three years of experience in the field. • The firm must have the ability to provide written reports of the field investigation and have the financial ability to undertake the work and assume the liability. • The firm must submit an electronic Statement of Qualifications through the North Carolina electronic Vendor Portal by 2:00 pm on Thursday, April 9, 2026.
