Description

The City of Providence is seeking a vendor to furnish and deliver phosphoric acid to the City's Water Purification Plant. The contract will be for a period of two years, with two one-year options. The vendor will be required to provide phosphoric acid that meets the current version of AWWA Standard B507, except as modified, and is NSF certified as a drinking water treatment chemical. The vendor will also be required to provide proof of insurance, a certificate of good standing with the Rhode Island Secretary of State, and other documentation as requested. Some key points to consider are: • The phosphoric acid must meet specific physical and chemical properties, such as solution density, specific gravity, and pH. • The vendor must provide a complete analysis of constituents and a copy of the NSF certification with their bid. • The vendor will be required to deliver the phosphoric acid in tank trucks with a capacity of approximately 40,000 pounds. • The vendor must schedule deliveries at least 24 hours in advance and provide proof of NSF certification with each delivery. • The City reserves the right to reject any delivery that does not meet the specifications outlined in the RFP. Some key responsibilities of the vendor will include: • Providing phosphoric acid that meets the required specifications. • Scheduling deliveries and providing proof of NSF certification. • Coordinating with the City to ensure that all deliveries are made in accordance with the City's requirements. The City of Providence encourages all bidders to review the RFP carefully and to submit any inquiries or questions to the contact person listed above.

Budget estimate

$175,000 – $350,000

Based on the information provided, the estimated budget for this opportunity is between $175,000 and $350,000. This estimate is based on the assumption that the vendor will deliver approximately 350,000 pounds of phosphoric acid per year, with a price per pound of $0.50 to $1.00. The actual budget will depend on the price per pound quoted by the vendor and the actual amount of phosphoric acid delivered over the contract period. Factors that may influence the budget include the price of raw materials, transportation costs, and other expenses associated with delivering the phosphoric acid.
