IFB #26-0048 Sophia Street and Lewis Street Drainage Project

The City of Fredericksburg is seeking bids to upgrade storm‑drainage infrastructure at the intersection of Sophia Street and Lewis Street. The project involves removing undersized storm‑sewer pipes, a drop inlet, and a manhole, then installing larger‑diameter pipes, a new manhole, and a new drop inlet, followed by full asphalt restoration and required erosion‑control measures. This work will improve system capacity, reliability, and long‑term performance of the municipal drainage network. • Remove existing 8‑in. and two 12‑in. storm‑sewer pipes, one drop inlet, and one manhole. • Install new 24‑in. pipe (replacing the 8‑in.) and a new 30‑in. pipe (replacing one 12‑in.) plus replace the remaining 12‑in. pipe with a new 12‑in. line. • Construct new manhole and drop inlet, perform asphalt restoration, and provide erosion, sediment, and traffic control throughout construction.
