Description

The City of Jackson is seeking bids for the construction of infrastructure improvements, specifically creek and channel clearing. The project involves the removal of debris, sedimentation, and obstruction from the channels, as well as slope stabilization and the replacement of riprap. The contractor will be responsible for furnishing all necessary materials, equipment, labor, and tools to complete the project. The project is divided into three sites, with approximate lengths of 2900, 11000, and 1200 linear feet. The contractor must visit the site to inform themselves of the conditions and must agree to commence work on or before the date specified in the notice to proceed and fully complete the project within 180 consecutive calendar days. The contract will be awarded to the lowest and best bidder, and the City of Jackson reserves the right to reject any and all bids. • The project requires the contractor to clear and grub along the specified locations, removing debris and sedimentation, and replacing riprap. • The contractor must utilize the City of Jackson's property to access the channel and must prevent silt from flowing into the ditch. • The contractor is responsible for verifying utilities located in the vicinity of the work area and working cautiously around all utilities. • The contractor must restore any damaged properties to their original or better condition. • The contractor must provide a bid bond or certified check for 5% of the base bid amount. • The contractor must execute a performance bond and a payment bond, each in an amount of not less than 100% of the total of the base bid.

Budget estimate

$500,000 – $2,000,000

The budget for this opportunity is estimated to be between $500,000 and $2,000,000. This estimate is based on the scope of the project, which involves the clearing and grubbing of approximately 14,100 linear feet of channels, as well as the replacement of riprap and the stabilization of slopes. The cost of labor, materials, and equipment will likely be significant, and the contractor will need to factor in the costs of mobilization, demobilization, and site restoration. Additionally, the contractor will need to consider the costs of insurance, bonding, and other miscellaneous expenses. Overall, the estimated budget range of $500,000 to $2,000,000 is a reasonable estimate based on the scope and complexity of the project.
