Description
The Department of Veterans Affairs is seeking a contractor to replace furniture, fixtures, and equipment for the Intermediate Psychiatric Unit (IPU) at the Salt Lake City VA Medical Center. The project involves providing all necessary labor, equipment, materials, and supervision to complete the required work in accordance with the provided Statement of Work (SOW), Construction Documents, drawings, and specifications. The contractor will be responsible for ensuring that the work is completed without interrupting the normal functioning of the Medical Center. The project includes various tasks such as demolition, removal of existing structures, installation of new work, and restoration of existing work. The contractor must comply with all applicable regulations, including those related to safety, security, and environmental protection.
Some key aspects of the project include:
• Providing a thorough survey of the areas to be altered and identifying any discrepancies between the drawings and existing conditions.
• Developing a work plan and schedule that ensures the Medical Center's operations are not disrupted.
• Coordinating with the Contracting Officer's Representative (COR) to ensure that all work is completed in accordance with the contract requirements.
• Ensuring that all employees and subcontractors comply with the VA's security management program and obtain necessary permissions and identification.
• Protecting existing equipment and property from damage and ensuring that all work is completed in a safe and efficient manner.
