Description

The Illinois Finance Authority (IFA) is inviting project proposals under the 40101(d) Federal Formula Grant Program to enhance the resilience of the electric grid in Illinois. The program aims to support the implementation of monitoring and control technologies that can increase electric system visibility and control, reduce the number of outages, and minimize the time to restore power to affected customers. Eligible entities include electric grid operators, electricity storage operators, electricity generators, transmission owners or operators, distribution providers, fuel suppliers, and other relevant entities. The program has a total available funding of $1,000,000, with expected individual award amounts ranging from $150,000 to $200,000 per project. Key aspects of the program include: • Alignment with Program Objectives & Metrics: Projects must be designed to accomplish the objectives identified in the program narrative. • Expected impact on Equity Investment Eligible Communities (EIECs): Projects must demonstrate a reduction in the likelihood and consequences of disruptive events on Illinois' electric grid, particularly in EIECs. • Expected Environmental/Public Health Benefits: Projects must demonstrate environmental quality and public health benefits, especially for EIECs. • Contractor and Workforce Commitments: Projects must integrate new workforce training participants, diverse contractors, and/or subcontractors.
