Description

The City of Phoenix is seeking a contractor to provide heavy-duty brake services for its fleet vehicles. The contract will be for a three-year term with two option years. The contractor will be responsible for providing all parts, labor, and materials necessary to service and repair air brake systems on heavy-duty equipment. The city will utilize this contract on an "as-needed" basis and does not guarantee the purchase of any quantity or dollar amount of services. Some key requirements for the contractor include having the knowledge and expertise necessary to complete the scope of work, not subcontracting any portion of the work without prior approval, and providing a written estimate within eight hours after receipt of the vehicle. The contractor must also have the appropriate level of experience and training required for the services they are providing. • The contractor must have a minimum of 2 years of experience in providing heavy-duty brake services. • The contractor must have the necessary certifications and licenses to perform the work. • The contractor must have a facility that complies with all applicable local, state, and federal regulations. • The contractor must provide a written estimate within eight hours after receipt of the vehicle. • The contractor must not perform any repair until after authorized by the City of Phoenix, Service Center representative. • The contractor must respond verbally or via electronic communication to all service call requests within two business hours. • The contractor must pick up each vehicle within four business hours after notification of a service request. • The contractor must complete repairs and return the vehicle to the appropriate City facility within twenty-four business hours, including travel time.

Budget estimate

$1,500,000 – $6,000,000

The budget for this contract is difficult to estimate without knowing the exact scope of work and the number of vehicles that will require services. However, based on the fact that the contract is for a three-year term with two option years and the city will utilize the contract on an "as-needed" basis, it is possible that the budget could be in the range of $500,000 to $2 million per year, depending on the frequency and complexity of the services required. This estimate is based on the assumption that the contractor will be providing a range of services, including repairs, maintenance, and replacement of parts, and that the city will be utilizing the contract regularly. The actual budget could be higher or lower, depending on the specific needs of the city and the services provided by the contractor. Factors that may influence the likely payment range include the number of vehicles in the city's fleet, the frequency of service requests, and the complexity of the services required.
