Description

The United States Air Force is issuing a Request for Information (RFI) to improve understanding of the market landscape and identify qualified vendors capable of providing Counter-small Unmanned Aircraft Systems (C-sUAS) capability. The RFI has three parts: requested feedback on the Medusa C2 SDK, requested information on Proliferated Low-Altitude Detect (PLAD) technologies, and requested information on Low-Cost Kinetic Defeat (LCKD) technologies. Vendors do not have to respond to all three parts, but must fully fill out the requested inputs for the parts they choose to respond to. The RFI will be used to identify potential vendors that may be offered to participate in a late May 2026 demonstration of their PLAD, LCKD, and/or SDK integration capabilities. • The RFI is focused on detecting low-flying threats and providing fully burdened low-cost defeat options. • Vendors will be required to use a provided Software Development Kit (SDK) to perform initial integration into the Small Unmanned Aircraft Defense System (SUADS) and Medusa Command-and-Control (C2). • The USAF is looking for feedback on improvements, issues, and general suggestions for the SDK. • The RFI is not a solicitation, and responses will not be considered as offers to form a binding contract.

Budget estimate

$100,000 – $1,000,000

The budget for this opportunity is difficult to estimate, as the document does not provide a specific dollar amount. However, considering the scope of the RFI and the potential for future contracts, a rough estimate could be in the range of $100,000 to $1,000,000. This estimate is based on the assumption that the USAF is looking for a comprehensive solution that includes the development and integration of C-sUAS capabilities, which could require significant resources and investment. Factors that may influence the likely payment range include the complexity of the solution, the number of vendors participating in the demonstration, and the potential for future contracts.
