Culver Gulch Shaft Closure

The USDA Forest Service is seeking quotations from qualified small‑business contractors to close the Culver Gulch mine shaft by constructing a permanent concrete cap and installing a steel bat‑friendly grate, including all engineering, design, site preparation, and inspection requirements. • Design and submit PE‑stamped structural drawings for concrete slab and steel grate. • Provide and install 5/8” rock bolts anchored in competent bedrock. • Construct cast‑in‑place concrete slab (minimum 4000 psi) with specified materials and forms. • Install fabricated steel grate with anti‑vandalism features. • Perform site excavation, testing, and ensure compliance with ASTM, ACI, and Forest Service specifications. • Complete work within a 30‑day performance period (09/30/2026‑10/29/2026). • Submit design for Forest Service review prior to notice to proceed.
