Description

The U.S. Special Operations Command (USSOCOM) is seeking technology experimentation nominations for the Rapid Experimentation of Prototyping Technology in Learning Environments (REPTILE) event. The event will be held from 08-18 SEP 2026 in Gulfport, MS, and will focus on Counter-Unmanned-Systems (CUxS) capabilities. USSOCOM is looking for man-portable and manpackable CUxS systems that can detect, track, classify, and neutralize unmanned aerial threats. The systems should be able to operate in a simulated Denied, Disrupted, Intermittent, and Limited (DDIL) combat environment. Some key features of the desired CUxS systems include: • Fully integrated detection and engagement capabilities • Early warning systems • Semiautonomous and autonomous platforms • Counter-fiberoptic and counter FPV capabilities • Ability to detect, track, and classify very low flying UAS • Active radar capable of mitigating ground clutter • Optics capable of ATR and tracking in cluttered backgrounds • Integration into existing C2 systems • Electromagnetic hardened systems capable of operating in contested EM environments • Low collateral effectors • Electromagnetic protection systems capable of detecting, characterizing, and geolocating EMI

Budget estimate

$100,000 – $1,000,000

The budget for this opportunity is not explicitly stated in the document. However, based on the scope and complexity of the REPTILE event, it is likely that the budget will be substantial. The event is focused on developing and demonstrating CUxS capabilities, which are critical to the U.S. military's ability to counter unmanned aerial threats. The budget may be in the form of contracts or grants to support the development and deployment of these capabilities. A rough estimate of the budget could be in the range of $100,000 to $1,000,000, depending on the scope and complexity of the project. However, this is purely speculative, and the actual budget could be higher or lower. Factors that may influence the likely payment range include the number of respondents, the quality of the submissions, and the level of funding available to USSOCOM.
