The U.S. Department of Transportation is soliciting quotes from small‑business firms to remove an existing emergency generator and automatic transfer switch (ATS) at the United States Merchant Marine Academy (USMMA) in Kings Point, NY, and to install a new 600 kW diesel standby generator and an 800‑amp ATS, including all associated electrical, fuel, exhaust, grounding, and control work, testing, commissioning, documentation, and training.
• Scope: Remove and dispose of existing Cummins 600 kW generator and Onan 800‑amp ATS; install new 600 kW diesel generator and 800‑amp ATS.
• Deliverables: Complete labor, materials, equipment, transportation, supervision, testing, commissioning, as‑built drawings, O&M manuals, and warranty documentation.
• Performance standards: NFPA 70, NFPA 110, manufacturer specs; load‑bank testing for ≥4 continuous hours at 100 % capacity.
• Period of performance: Contract runs 09/25/2026 – 09/24/2027; installation work to be finished within 90 calendar days after notice to proceed.
• Small‑business set‑aside: 100 % women‑owned small business (WOSB) and HUBZone/SDVOSB eligible.
