Description

The United States Army Contracting Command - Rock Island is seeking information on innovative and mature components or integrated solutions to support the development of an Arresting Cable Release Mechanism (ACRM) capability for the Mine Clearing Line Charge (MICLIC). The ACRM should be able to automatically sever or disconnect the arresting cable while under tension. The mechanism should be modular, triggerable by environmental conditions, and able to release the cable within 3-45 seconds after the settling of the LDC and rocket on the ground. • The ACRM should be able to survive the peak tension during the arresting event and the severe MICLIC launch environment. • The mechanism should not interfere with the deployment of the LDC from the M58 LDC container. • The release must be completed within 3-45 seconds after the settling of LDC and rocket on the ground. • The mechanism should be able to fully sever or disconnect the arresting cable from the M58 LDC container.

Budget estimate

$500,000 – $5,000,000

The budget for this opportunity is difficult to estimate because the document does not provide a specific amount or range. However, considering the complexity and the military application of the Arresting Cable Release Mechanism, the budget could be substantial. A possible estimate could be in the range of $500,000 to $5 million, depending on the scope of the project, the number of units required, and the level of research and development involved. The actual budget will depend on the specifics of the contract and the vendor's proposal.
