John Day Overhead Lifting Devices Repair

The US Army Corps of Engineers is seeking information from industry members to assess their interest, capabilities, and qualifications for a potential construction project at the John Day Dam in Oregon. The project involves performing weld repairs on the powerhouse's overhead lifting devices, which were found to have cracks during an inspection. The repairs should follow AWS D1.1 and ASTM E709 methods and inspection standards to correct the identified deficiencies and restore the equipment to safe operational standards. The key aspects of the project include: • Weld repairs on five specific pieces of equipment: the 590 Ton Spreader Beam, the 310 Ton Spreader Beam #1, the 310 Ton Spreader Beam #2, the Lifting Device for Main & Intermediate Shafts, and the Lifting Device for the Runner. • Repairs should be performed at the Contractor's facility. • The Government will assist with loading and unloading the lifting devices using the powerhouse gantry crane. • The Contractor will abate and remove lead paint at the cracks and spot repaint with a government-approved paint system.
