Description
The City of Los Angeles, Department of Public Works, Bureau of Engineering is seeking a consulting engineering firm to provide design support services during construction and construction engineering support services for the San Fernando Road Widening at Balboa Road Project. The project involves widening the west side of San Fernando Road to provide an additional southbound dedicated right-turn lane at Balboa Road, and includes constructing retaining walls, sidewalk, curb ramps, curb and gutter, asphalt concrete pavement, pedestrian lighting, street lighting, and traffic striping and signal upgrades. The consultant will be expected to coordinate closely with the Bureau of Engineering's Street Improvement Division to address construction-related questions, concerns, and field issues from the contractor and work closely with various agencies.
• The scope of work includes construction engineering support services, claims mitigation and independent cost estimating, scheduling, request for information response, submittal review, shop drawing review, construction meetings, permit compliance, geotechnical support oversight, structural support, street lighting and electrical engineering support, and civil engineering support.
• The consultant will be required to prepare final "As-Built" drawings in AutoCAD Civil 3D and Adobe Reader formats.
• The consultant will be expected to demonstrate an understanding of the project's objectives, technical approach, and scope of work, as well as their experience and qualifications in providing similar services.
